Vision and Activities

The St Joseph’s Rural Centre was born out of a desire the Grimley family held, to offer an accessible resource available for the people of the Midlands and beyond: a place of care and compassion where people could come and be, take stock and rest.

Our centre is a Community Interest Company, and our current activities include:

  • Fostering spiritual, mental and emotional wellbeing in people and organisations by providing:
    • respite care with accommodation
    • opportunities to talk and be listened to
    • access to various workshop activities
  • Supporting a crafting community around our centre, giving people an opportunity to participate, sell their ware, give people an opportunity to teach others, provide craft workshops and build a sense of community and togetherness.
  • Providing the local community with the provision of a tearoom which provides: meals, scones and beverages, all within an ethos of care and compassion, set within a peaceful setting.
  • Connecting people and organisations to the environment and geographical area to which they belong through providing activities and resources connected to the National and Charnwood forest in which the centre sits.
